INVITATION LETTER

Dear Colleagues,

At the beginning of the New Year 2008, once again, on behalf of the National Organizing Committee, I am pleased to extend an invitation to you to attend the 13th Animal Science Congress of the Asian - Australasian Association of Animal Production Societies which will be held in Hanoi-Vietnam, September 22 - 26, 2008.

This is the second announcement. The first one was sent on 1st of July 2007. We would like to extend our thanks for the prompt reply from our friends and colleagues for sending their registration forms and abstracts to the congress and we hope to continue to receive your support and attention to the congress.

Since the First Animal Science Congress of AAAP held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1980, there have been 11 gatherings. These congresses greatly contributed to the sustainable development of food production and the social economy through the improvement of animal production in the region.

The theme of the forthcoming 13th Animal Science Congress of AAAP is”Animal Agriculture and the role of small holder farmers in a global economy ". The aims of this congress are (i) to provide an opportunity to exchange new information on animal science and technology, (ii) to discuss the strategy to support the farmers (especially the small holder farmers) facing the global market system; (iii) to introduce related companies, units, etc., to all stakeholders involved in animal production; and (iv) serve as a congenial venue for people from our Asian - Australasian region and beyond to make new contacts and renew old friendships.

Time for the congress is now coming shortly. We hope to receive your registration and abstracts of your presentation soon. Your active participation and support to ensure the success of our Congress will be highly appreciated. I am looking forward to seeing you at the 13th AAAP Animal Science Congress in Hanoi, Vietnam and I hope you will have the opportunity to enjoy Vietnam, its people, its culture, its tradition, its cuisine and its wonderful diverse landscape.

With best wishes,

Prof. Nguyen Van Thien

President of the 13th AAAP Animal Science Congress
